A familiar face is taking over as the new head coach of the Lambton College has named its new women’s basketball head coach.
Janine Day, who currently teaches at Wallaceburg District Secondary School, is taking over behind the bench for the 2021-22 season.
Day has been coaching the WDSS senior girls Tartans since 2003. The team has not only regularly advanced to OFSAA, but won the provincial championship in 2018.
“I’m really looking forward to this exciting opportunity,” said Day. “With the new facilities at the College and increased emphasis on athletics, I am excited about building the program even further.”
Day was also inducted into the Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame in 2018, as the Ray Aarssen Memorial Award of Excellence Coach/Official inductee.
