A civilian member of the Chatham-Kent Police Service has once again been honoured for her work, named a finalist for the Police Service Hero of the Year Award as a Community Role Model.

Kristine Jarvis works in the police information centre, and has supported a number of causes over the years. Jarvis serves as a board member for Victim Services, and helps out with a number of community events, including the Polar Plunge, Shop with a Cop, toy and food drives, and events in support of the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre.

A ceremony was held at Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters on Wednesday with Acting Chief Kirk Early, Mayor Darrin Canniff, Police Association of Ontario president Mark Baxter, and MP David Epp.

In a post on social media, Jarvis says she is honoured and humbled.

“I assure you it was a group effort,” Jarvis wrote. “Special thanks to my husband for his love & support. Hoping to make my children proud.”

Jarvis also won the Community Role Model award in 2020.
