A relationship on the rocks has resulted in charges for a Texas man.
Police say the man was involved in a long term romance with a Chatham woman. The two made plans last April to marry.
When the relationship soured, the man asked for the engagement ring back. The woman refused and in January the man allegedly crossed the border in a rental car and spray painted derogatory words on the woman’s and several of her friends’ cars and poured an unknown substance into a few of the gas tanks.
The woman contacted police and an investigation ensued, culminating in the issuing of warrants for his arrest.
The man turned himself in to Chatham-Kent Police yesterday. He’s facing multiple counts of mischief.
