JoAn Dale is Chatham-Kent’s Senior of the Year.
She says she’s done a lot in the community over the years.
“I’ve always been active with my church and served on a number of the committees there. I’m a long-standing member of Zonta which is involved with the betterment of women’s and children’s conditions throughout the world. I’ve helped with the Alzheimer’s society [as well]”, says Dale.
Dale says she’s retired now, but likes to keep busy.
“Since I retired, I’ve been actively involved with the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s gift shop. With my two sisters, we co-manage the gift shop and are in the process of helping to raise money for the Diagnostic Imaging project at the hospital”, explains Dale.
She received the award at yesterday’s Senior Expo and Achievement Awards in Blenheim.
