The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario is cutting jobs across the region as it continues to deal with the fallout from COVID-19.

The organization, which stretches from Windsor to Woodstock, says 110 jobs, primarily part time positions, are being eliminated.

In a statement to the CKXS newsroom, VP of Marketing and Communications Elyse Sheare says there have been job losses in Chatham-Kent, but wouldn’t specify how many.

“Programming will continue to be impacted due to the protocols in place as a result of the pandemic, but will not be impacted due to these staff reductions,” Sheare says. “We remain focused on the communities we serve, and nimble so that we can begin to offer further programming once conditions allow.”
