A local member of Provincial Parliament has been appointed to a new role within the Ontario government.

Chatham-Kent-Leamington MPP Trevor Jones was named Deputy Government House Leader earlier this week, a role that will see him work with government House Leader Paul Calandra and the government whip.

In his new role, Jones will assist in managing legislative proceedings, coordinating government initiatives, and facilitating communication between members of the legislature.

Jones will also continue his role as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
