The Thames Art Gallery is preparing to open the 2023 edition of its highly-anticipated biennial exhibition.

Every two years, the gallery invites emerging and mid-career artists from across Ontario to submit their best new work for a juried competition.

Over 80 artists submitted more than 213 works. Guest juror Carla Garnet, Director/Curator of the John B Aird Gallery in Toronto, managed to narrow the field to 21 artists and 35 pieces for inclusion, saying she was drawn to pieces that conveyed a connection to nature, family, or both.

The 2023 Ontario Juried Exhibition will open on Friday, August 25, at 7pm with a reception and award presentation. The exhibition runs from August 25 to October 22, 2023. The gallery is fully accessible, and admission is free, but donations are welcome.
