A figure from Chatham-Kent’s history is getting a bit of recognition.
Geoffrey O’Hara wrote the song K-K-K-Katy in 1917, and now it’s being inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
O’Hara was born in Chatham and worked at Edison Records and Columbia University while he devoted his life to music.
The song was a huge hit, with its sheet music selling more than 1.5-million copies.
O’Hara was in his 80s when he passed away in 1967.
