With all the changes surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, one thing that’s staying the same is municipal garbage collection.

Waste and Recycling Services say regular curbside collection will continue as usual, but residents are being asked to be mindful of any garbage that might pose a hygiene risk.

Used tissues, paper towels, and napkins should be placed in a sealed bag or box before being thrown in a toter cart, and all garbage should be tied in bags rather than being loose.

They’re also asking anyone who is sick to put items like water and juice bottles and anything else that might have come in contact with their mouth, nose, or eyes, into the garbage rather than recycling.
