Local conservationists are keeping a close watch on the Sydenham River and other area waterways. 
The St Clair Region Conservation Authority says this week’s rain and melting snow has elevated the Sydenham River, with some minor flooding in St Clair Township and the risk for minor ice jams between Wallaceburg and Dresden.
Meantime, ice along the St Clair River has been deteriorating as well.
The Canadian Coast Guard was out on the water earlier this week breaking up the ice.
