Chatham-Kent Police and OPP will be out in force this weekend to make sure the roads are safe.

Operation Impact runs today through Monday, keeping an eye out for drivers who are impaired due to alcohol, drugs or fatigue, as well as aggressive driving, distracted driving, and driving without a seat belt.

Authorities say most collisions are not ‘accidents’, and are usually the direct result of a conscious decision an individual driver has made.

CKPS Traffic Sgt Jim Lynds adds, “Road safety is literally in your hands. This holiday weekend, let’s aim for zero incidents of impaired driving, distracted driving and aggressive driving.  Don’t let the impact of your decisions be a collision on our roads.”
