A vehicle stopped in a Chatham intersection caught the eye of a local resident.

Chatham-Kent Police responded to a traffic complaint at the corner of King Street West and Lacroix around 5:30 Tuesday morning and say the driver appeared to be asleep at the wheel.

Officers on scene suspected the man may have been under the influence of alcohol and brought him to police headquarters for tests.

The 24-year-old from Kent Bridge is now charged with having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, and will have to answer to a judge in court later this month.
