KFA Elections, Awards in Ridgetown

A busy day in Ridgetown with the annual meeting of the Kent Federation of Agriculture.

Darrin Canniff and Leon Leclair were honoured with the group’s Meritorious Service Award for their work on 2018 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo.

“I’m truly honoured,” Canniff says. “When you look at the last 40 years, all the individuals on that list (of past receipients,) pretty amazing people in this community. Just to be mentioned in the same sentence with them is really a thrill.”

Leclair wasn’t able to attend Wednesday’s ceremony.

Ron Faubert re-elected as KFA president with Harry Lawson and Jay Cunningham elected as Vice Presidents.

The Ed Campbell Memorial, Director of the Year recipient was Steve Piche, and the KFA scholarship was given to Matthew Laevens.
