Pandemic or not, you can’t stop the music. The 75th annual Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent Music Festival continued this year.

Festival Chair George Service says obviously there had to be some changes.

“Instead the music festival has been done entirely online,” Service says. “The students submitted a video onto a YouTube channel, and then that was judged by the adjudicators and they got their marks.”

There were over 60 participants in the various categories. As always there is a Grand Concert to celebrate the winners and top performers.

“Those will be done in a virtual concert on the 11th, all you need to do to see is sign in to our website and it will take you directly there at or about 7 o’clock on the 11th. It will be available for people to view over and over again for about a 24 hour period.”

Service says normally the Grand Concert would draw 300-400 fans at the live event and they are hoping for a similar crowd for the online version.
