A Tilbury man is facing charges after allegedly pulling out a knife during an argument at a Chatham pharmacy.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a man got into a verbal argument with the manager at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Queen Street on Sunday at around 8:30 p.m. The manager asked the man to leave, but on his way out of the store, the man allegedly pulled out a knife and made a threatening remark.

The manager locked the door to the store after the man left and called police.

The man had left the scene before officers arrived, but a suspect was located a short distance away.

A 26-year-old Tilbury man is now charged with possession of a weapon of a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon. He has been released with conditions and a future court date on July 27.
