Multiple charges have been laid against an ATV rider, stopped by the OPP near McKay’s Corners.

Provincial Police pulled over the vehicle on Kent Bridge Road shortly after 7:30 last Thursday evening after spotting the driver without a helmet. Authorities say the arresting officer also spotted an open container of alcohol. The driver failed a roadside screening and was taken into custody for further testing.

The 57-year-old from Thamesville has since been charged with impaired driving, three counts of driving while suspended, driving without a proper helmet, and driving while prohibited under the Criminal Code, among other offences.

The accused was issued a 90 day license suspension and 45 day vehicle impoundment.
