Lambton College is revitalizing the structure of its nursing programs to make it easier for students who want to change the path of their education.
The college announced the launch of the School of Nursing on Tuesday, which will encompass the Personal Support Worker Ontario College Certificate, Practical Nursing Ontario College Diploma, and the Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing Degree.
Mary Vaughan, the senior vice president of academic and student success at Lambton College, says the evolved academic structure will make the process easier for students who want to bridge their education from one program to another.
“Students may start in PSW, but have aspirations to come back to the college environment to pursue further education,” Vaughan said in a news release. “Having a school with that goal and objective can make that process seamless for the student.”
The School of Nursing is expected to provide students with a more consistent approach to training in aligned healthcare professions, as well as an overall improved experience.
