Public health officials in Lambton County are hoping the public can help with a dog bite investigation.
Lambton Public Health is looking for information on a dog and its owner following an incident on April 10th near High Park Public School in Sarnia.
The dog, described as a medium-sized pitbull-terrier mix, black and white in colour, was being walked on a leash by the assumed owner, described as a woman around 70 years old, with white hair. Public health officials say the person who was bitten was an 11-year-old child who had reportedly asked the owner for permission before petting the dog.
If you have any information relating to the location of the dog and its owner, please contact Lambton Public Health at 519-383-8331 ext. 3601 or toll-free 1-800-667-1839.
If the dog cannot be found and the health status of the animal verified, the victim will need to receive post exposure rabies shots.
