If you’re planning on donating to the Salvation Army this holiday season, the red kettles will be out until 2:00 this afternoon.

Captain Karen Holland says they’ll be out at several locations.

“Our red kettles are out in Wallaceburg, Chatham, and Ridgetown. In Wallaceburg it’s at WalMart, No Frills, Dollarama, Canadian Tire, and the LCBO. In Chatham, we’ve got them at No Frills, Sobey’s, Food Basics, Superstore, the mall, Giant Tire, Canadian Tire, WalMart, and Dollarama, and a Foodland in Ridgetown,” says Holland.

As of last Thursday, the campaign was $127,000 short of its $500,000 goal.

Holland says if you can’t make it out today, you can donate by mail before December 31st.

“We can accept cheques through the mail that are postmarked no later than December 31st. So if it’s put in the mail the last week of the month and we receive it the next week, that can go towards our goal,” explains Holland.
