Staff at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance are shutting down the seasonal care clinic for the year.
The clinic, operated out of a mobile trailer outside the Emergency Department in Chatham, is closing down its doors at 4 o’clock this afternoon.
Since it opened in December, over 1300 individuals have come through the doors, easing pressure on the Emergency Department during months that typically see increased visits for seasonal and other mild illnesses. That’s down slightly from the more than 1500 patients who received care last year.
Anyone looking for non-emergency clinical services after today is advised to visit their family primary care provider, go to a walk-in or virtual clinic, or talk to a pharmacist. Patients can also call 8-1-1 to connect with a qualified health professional for advice or other health information 24/7. Urgent care can also be accessed online at urgentcareontario.ca.
For adults and/or their children who have been exposed to the measles virus and are not fully vaccinated, call CK Public Health at 519-352-7270 extension 5902 for further directions.
