Nearly half of all schools in Chatham-Kent have lead levels in drinking water above Health Canada recommendations.

That’s according to a new report put together by Global, The Toronto Star and others.

In March of this year, the federal government reduced the recommendations to 5 parts per billion.

The biggest offender is Naahii Ridge which tested above the threshhold 47% of the time with the highest number being 21.6ppb.

Blenheim DHS sits at 37.5%. and WDSS at 25% above the recommendation. AA WRIGHT and HW Burgess were on the lower end at 12.4% and 10% above the new recommendations.
