The municipality has invited a guest speaker to give a talk on leadership tonight at the Kiwanis Theatre.
Mayor Darrin Canniff says Peter Kenyon is from Australia.
“He tours the world talking about how to revitalize rural communities. We ran into him at the ROMA conference where he was the Keynote Speaker. He got a standing ovation for his presentation, and at that point, I said we need to have him come to Chatham-Kent,” Canniff explains.
Tonight’s talk is entitled, Leadership in Challenging Times for Rural Communities.
“He’s going to give some examples of some small towns that have had a rebirth. He gives some great examples of things, and what the core pieces are that you need for a revitalization,” says Canniff.
Doors open at 6:30, followed by a one hour presentation at 7:00, and a social hour at 8:00.
Admission is free.
