Leamington’s Highline Produce has been convicted of failing to ensure a worker’s safety after an incident over a year ago.

On September 20th, 2018, an employee at the Highline Produce growing facility in eastern Ontario was critically injured after being caught up and dragged into a conveyor.

According to the Ministry of Labour, there were no guards in place to prevent the worker from being pulled into the machinery.

The company has now been fined $90,000 along with a 25% victim fine surcharge which is credited to a special provincial government fund to assist victims of crime.
