The Chatham Goodfellows will be out tonight for their annual Porchlight Campaign.
If you live in Chatham and would like to participate, all you have to do is leave your porchlight on, and a Goodfellow will come to your door so you can make a donation to their No Child Without a Christmas Campaign.
President Tim Mifflin says even though this is a Chatham event, they work with other organizations in the municipality.
“We provide toys and food for about 14-1500 families in Chatham, Dover township, Raleigh Township, as well as Harwich,” Mifflin says. “We’re also partnering with Merlin Legion and they cover the Merlin area, so we cover a wide expanse of Chatham-Kent and in addition to us, the Salvation Army covers a good portion remaining.”
The Porchlight Campaign has been running for 63 years in Chatham.
Last year’s fundraiser brought in just shy of $42,000 for the organization.
