In an effort to save money and increase safety, the municipality has begun a large-scale streetlight conversion project.
In partnership with Entegrus Powerlines, crews have started the process of replacing 10,000 streetlights around Chatham-Kent with energy efficient LED lights.
The move is expected to save on electricity costs as well as minimize monthly maintenance and provide a better quality of light in area neighbourhoods.
