Leon’s furniture store in Chatham is getting into the Christmas spirit once again.

Chatham 19th Scouts have been selling Christmas trees as a fundraiser to support the club’s activities through the year.

Leon’s owner Ken Edwards has purchased all remaining Christmas trees to give away, free of charge.

“We are always happy to be a part of this fundraiser, it is a win – win for us. We can support youth in the community and help families that need assistance have a happy Christmas by donating these great trees.” said Ken Edwards.

“It is very exciting to see how the youth who joined when they were beavers at age 5 are now scouts or ventures in high school mentoring others at the tree lot,” Scouter Andrea Winter said. “They all enjoy volunteering together, learning about the trees, and playing together at the lot of course!  We truly appreciate this fundraiser and the ongoing support Leon’s continues to provide our group.”

The Scouts’ tree lot is located on St Clair Street in Chatham, just north of Oxley Drive. Trees should available starting Friday or Saturday, while supplies last.
