LHIN Investing $1 Million for Opioid Addiction Prevention

The Erie St. Clair LHIN is investing $1 million dollars to help people who are impacted by opioid addiction and overdose.

The investment is part of Ontario’s Strategy to Prevent Opioid addiction and Overdose.

$80,000 will be allocated to Chatham-Kent for community withdrawal management.

Bluewater Health will receive $445,000 for interim withdrawal management beds, and the VON will receive $100,000 dollars for case managers.

$175,000 will go to the Windsor Essex Community Health Centre for outreach and harm reduction workers, while $100,000 will go to the VON for opioid case managers.

Hotel-Dieu Grace Healtcare is also receiving $200,000 for outreach management staffing enhancements.

Over the next three years, the province is investing $222 million across Ontario to combat the opioid crisis.
