With just over a month to go before the federal election, the governing Liberals finally have a candidate in place in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.
Jesse McCormick, who most recently worked in the office of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change in Ottawa, was announced as the riding’s nominee yesterday.
He’ll be running against Conservative Lianne Rood, NDP candidate Dylan McLay, Brie Atkins with the People’s Party of Canada, and Green candidate Anthony Li.
Meantime, the federal election campaign is expected to get underway later this morning with reports that Justin Trudeau is planning to speak with the Governor General.
The Prime Minister will formally ask Julie Payette to dissolve parliament, kicking off a 40 day campaign leading up to the election on October 21st.
