Premier Kathleen Wynne is making a big push to eliminate the province’s reliance on natural gas.
Reports say the Liberal government plans to spend more than 7 billion dollars on a climate change plan that will make Ontario more environmentally friendly.
Mayor Randy Hope says this plan will not only hurt Ontario as a whole but also Chatham-Kent.
“Some of our policies that I see rolling out have gone way beyond anything. It will hurt Ontario, it will hurt our industries and it hurts our economic strategy that we are trying to do here in Chatham-Kent. ”
Natural gas currently provides 76 per cent of heating across the province.
