Lighting up CKHA’s Christmas Wish Trees

Christmas Wish Tree lighting ceremony in Wallaceburg, December 14, 2022.

It’s a festive tradition 36 years in the making.

A pair of lighting ceremony are being held this week to launch the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation Christmas Wish Tree campaign.

The tree at the Wallaceburg site on Margaret Avenue will be lit Wednesday evening, followed by a ceremony at the Chatham hospital on Thursday, both getting underway at 6 o’clock.

Last year, the campaign brought in over $170,000 to support life-changing equipment, program innovation, and facility upgrades at CKHA.

Proceeds from this year’s Wish Tree fundraiser will support the CKHA Foundation’s highest priority needs fund. Officials say the fund plays a crucial role in ensuring hospital teams have the tools and resources they need to provide exceptional care.

According to the CKHAF, current areas of need include important investments in Diagnostic Imaging and Mammography at the Chatham Site, continued progress on the Wallaceburg Site Redevelopment Project, and with several other priority initiatives identified by clinical leadership.
