Local Advance Poll Turnout Comparable To Provincial Numbers

Early voter turnout in Chatham-Kent and Lambton County was on par with what advance polls saw across the province.

According to Elections Ontario, 6,310 voters cast their ballot over three days of advance voting in the riding of Chatham-Kent-Leamington, which accounts for 7.14 per cent of the riding’s eligible registered voters.

In Lambton-Kent Middlesex, 4,898 ballots were cast or 5.33 per cent of the riding’s registered voters.

Across Ontario, preliminary figures show that 678,789 eligible voters took advantage of the early voting period. This represents 6.14 per cent of registered voters in Ontario.

In comparison, 9.92 per cent of eligible voters cast their ballots early in 2022 over a 10-day period. In 2018, 6.8 per cent voted over five days of advance voting.

Those who would still like to vote ahead of election day can do so until Wednesday a their local election office. Voting on election day this Thursday will take place from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Click here to find your voter location.
