Drew Simpson’s political aspirations may have hit a bit of a snag.
The 29-year-old Chatham man was arrested Monday at the Chatham-Kent Courthouse for an outstanding warrant in connection to a criminal harassment charge in London two months ago.
Police say Simpson resisted arrest and that additional charge was added to the list.
He was transferred to London to answer to the original charge.
Simpson is running provincially as an independent candidate and is also running in the municipal election in Ward 6.
(Editors note: the harassment charges against Simpson from London were withdrawn in July, 2018, while the resisting arrest charge in Chatham was withdrawn in November, 2018.)
