Local Charities Getting A Boost From Smile Cookie Campaign

A popular Tim Hortons fundraiser returns next week in support of several local causes.

The Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie campaign runs from November 17 to November 23, with the proceeds from the sale of the white chocolate sugar cookies with red and green sprinkles being donated to charities and community groups across Canada.

Locally, the money from Smile Cookies purchased at Chatham Tim Hortons will support the Chatham Goodfellows’ No Child Without a Christmas campaign. In Wallaceburg, money raised will go to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation, while funds from the Dresden Tim Hortons will bolster the Dresden Sidestreets Youth Centre.

The Tim Hortons in Thamesville is supporting the Thamesville Sertoma Club, Blenheim locations are raising funds for the Blenheim Youth Centre, and the Salvation Army Chatham Kent Ministries will benefit from cookie sales in Ridgetown.

As well, in Tilbury, proceeds from Smile Cookies will support Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Chatham, the United Way of Chatham-Kent, and the Tilbury Information & Help Centre.

The Smile Cookie program began in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario.
