The Chatham-Kent COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund has now raised more than $350,000 to support the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
The fund was launched in late March in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
President and CEO of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation Mary Lou Crowley says they were overwhelmed by the number of donors reaching out to ask how they can help support the CKHA.
“We quickly worked to identify the most critical needs of our frontline staff and shared these needs with our donors,” says Crowley. “The response was immediate as we received an outpouring of support. We are so very grateful for the individuals in this community, as well as the local service clubs, and businesses who have gone above and beyond to support our hospital during these uncertain times.”
The Foundation has been able to purchase vital equipment including a new patient ventilator, vital sign monitors, IV pumps, and an acute medicine bed. They were also able to support the purchase of more than 30,000 procedure masks and over 3,000 reusable gowns for CKHA’s physicians, nurses, and other frontline staff.
“Together, despite some fairly challenging circumstances, we have been able to achieve incredible results,” adds Crowley. “Thank you Chatham-Kent!”
