A Chatham-Kent law firm is celebrating its 10th anniversary by giving back to the community.
Whittal and Company Law Firm is making a decade-long commitment to helping end homelessness.
“At Home” with WCLF aims to reduce housing insecurity in Chatham-Kent, including a donation of $250,000 over the next 10 years to support Indwell, an Ontario-based charity focused on building permanent, affordable housing.
“Indwell is honoured to partner with Whittal + Company Law Firm as they make this significant commitment to reduce homelessness in Chatham Kent,” said Jeff Neven, Executive Director of Indwell. “As Indwell explores how we can contribute to ending homelessness in the area, Whittal’s pledge demonstrates their leadership and vision for their community.”
Indwell is working with other local groups to create 150 affordable housing units in Chatham-Kent over the next five years. Back in December, the municipality pledged $100,000 in one-time funding to hire a local project manager.
As part of the WCLF campaign, a portion of the legal fees from every real estate transaction will be put toward this goal. The company says this way, clients know that they’re also doing good and helping to contribute to this worthwhile initiative to make CK a safer, healthier, happier community for everyone that calls it home.
