
A pair of local leaders have been honoured for contributions to the community.
Mike Genge, President of the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent has been named Outstanding Fundraising Professional, and Bob Hockney, Past Chair of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation Board of Directors, has been awarded Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Canada South Chapter.
Genge has been working to advance philanthropy for children and families across Chatham-Kent for more than 25 years. Beyond his work with the Children’s Treatment Centre, Genge helped raise more than $96 million to benefit vital local initiatives, including the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation, Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre, and Chatham-Kent Hospice.
Hockney was honoured for his outstanding volunteer service and advocacy in support of local healthcare. As Past Chair of the CKHAF Board, Bob played a key role in advancing important hospital initiatives and continues to volunteer his time to build strong donor and community relationships.
The awards were presented November 14 at a ceremony in Windsor.
