A Chatham man and a group of friends are one step closer to being able to claim their fortune following a lotto win three months ago.

Allan Beharrell and 15 others from the Windsor and Essex County area had the winning ticket for the June 22nd Lotto Max draw, worth one-million dollars.

However, the brother one of the other winners works for an authorized OLG retailer, meaning the prize falls under the corporation’s definition of an insider win.

The claimants have now completed the first step of a two-step Insider Win process, which included enhanced scrutiny of the prize claim.

To prize is now being held for a 30-day waiting period in order for OLG to publicize the win. If there are no other claims, the group will get their winnings on October 17.
