A community-based donation drive is returning to Chatham-Kent for its fourth year.

“The Gift CK” will take place on November 18, with volunteers collecting donations of non-perishable food items, hygiene products, new toys, or other essential items.

The food and toy drive began as a way to support those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic, with residents and businesses invited to leave donations on their doorstep for volunteers to collect.

All donations are provided to local families in need.

“We witness many faces and stories of need in our community. Every day, we see the very real challenges of food and housing insecurity that affect our neighbours. ‘The Gift’ is a powerful answer to this. With every box of food, article of clothing and each toy you donate, you are not just sharing resources but weaving a tapestry of care that wraps around our community.” said volunteer Greg Simpson in a news release.
