TUNE IN ALL THIS WEEK FOR THE RADIO PREMIERE OF PORT LAMBTON’S CORY JAMES MITCHELL! THE SPOTLIGHT IS HEARD DAILY AT 3:40 PM!
Cory James Mitchell is a bit of an enigma. Unique might not cut it.
A self-described Canadian Country-Blues/Southern Rock musician, with his roots in the blues guitar. Mitchell has a style that catches your attention. On top of his apparent passion for tattoos and music, Cory works as a local barber in Sarnia at the Woods Hair Salon. Mitchell has spent the last few years working on his music and YOUR hair, specializing in classic barbering and modern men’s styles.
99.1 will be premiering two brand new tracks from CJM all this week on the spotlight. Tune in daily at 3:40 to be introduced to Port Lambton’s Cory James Mitchell.
Cory has spent his entire life living and working in Lambton County and Chatham-Kent, reflected in his music which he says captures his true feelings about the people, places and experiences of the place he calls home.
His sound is gritty, genuine and full of emotion, a barebones style of country some have compared to Chris Stapleton and Travis Tritt mixed with the lively backdrop of classic Southern Rock.
He is currently wrapping up recording a 4 track EP in Toronto which will be extended into a full album in the first half of this year.
Cory James Mitchell performs several times each month and hopes to bring his sound to a wider audience in 2018 by booking dates across much of Michigan and Ontario. He has worked with such groups as April Wine, Texas King, Aviator Shades and most recently Big Sugar.
Cory’s music can be found online on Bandcamp and Soundcloud, follow him on Facebook and on Instagram (@coryjamesmitchell) for up to date information on all releases and upcoming shows.
Mitchell also released a live album from The Station Music Hall in Sarnia in 2017. To download and stream, CLICK HERE!
