“Slow Motion Victory is electrifying and the next “must see” pop/rock band hailing out of Toronto, Ontario! Their phenomenal sound is only exceeded by their high-energy live performance, which combines the band’s powerful lyrics with their unbridled enthusiasm for playing together. Currently Slow Motion Victory is promoting their new EP “The War Inside”, featuring the hit track “Life in Motion”. This captivating tune could be considered an anthem for the band, as it harnesses their strong determination, passion and emotions.
In the past, the band has made it their mission to use their inspiring lyrics to promote hope and awareness for tragedies taking place in the world. In March, 2010 they played a live show for the event, “Shelterbox Fundraiser for Haiti”, in which they helped raise proceeds for the earthquake-ravaged country. The event was a success and the lyrics of the track “Life in Motion” could have had you believing they were written with the event in mind.
Recently, SMV was awarded the final spot on this year’s new show on MuchMusic called Discovered. Every band on this years season was hand chosen by Much…except for SMV. SMV is proud to say the band, out of all the bands that entered in Canada, was chosen as the fan favourite in a contest endorsed by HP (Hewlett Packer). During the show – which will be shot in documentary style – the band will be working with industry expert Greig Nori and filming their ventures as they try and make it to the next level. This opportunity will give SMV the exposure and momentum they need to showcase their skills on national television while giving the audience an inside look at how much passion and hard work they put into their music.
Also, in early 2011 long lasting members Toby Bey (Vocalist), Quentin “Q” Carter (Guitarist) and Kyle Bowlby (bassist) teamed up with guitarist Cory Rogers and drummer Fraser Stephenson (former members of Illuminate the Sky) to finalize the roster of Slow Motion Victory and take things to the next level.
