A local teen did Chatham-Kent and all of Canada proud at a recent international beauty pageant.
Elsie Moccia was chosen to represent Canada at the Miss Eco Teen International Pageant earlier this month in Egypt. The 15-year-old placed in the top 8 for Resort Wear, won 1st Place for Best Eco Dress, and earned the prestigious title of 3rd Runner-Up overall among contestants from more than 20 countries.
“This experience was absolutely incredible,” Moccia said in a news release. “I worked very hard to prepare, and I’m so grateful to have represented Canada. I’ve met so many amazing girls from around the world, who are now lifelong friends. It was truly an honour.”
Pageant organizers praised Moccia for her outstanding representation of Canada, sportsmanship, and positive spirit throughout the competition.
Moccia continues to advocate for children with disabilities and plans to use her platform to raise awareness and inspire other youth to make a difference in their communities.
