C-K’s Medical Officer of Health has had to remind local residents who have recently traveled out of country to abide by self-isolation recommendations.
A growing number of complaints connected to returning travelers NOT isolating led to a release from C-K Public Health on Thursday morning.
According to Public Health, “some residents are not taking the current self isolation directions seriously.”
Dr. Colby has officially made restrictions – with dates – for all travelers returning from outside Canada.
“As of March 17th, anyone returning to Canada from outside of the country in the last 14 days, which would make for a return date of March 3rd or later, must self isolate for 14 days from the day they arrived back into Canada” says Colby.
Dr. Colby also directed anyone who has returned to Canada since March 17th and anyone still trying to get back to Canada must also self isolate for 14 days from the day of their arrival back into Canada.
“We have an incredibly short window of time to do our best to limit the spread of COVID-19 in Chatham-Kent, explains Dr. Colby. Please take these warnings seriously.”
