A 39-year-old London man is facing eight charges including Theft of a Motor Vehicle after a police chase in downtown Petrolia late Monday morning.
Lambton OPP responded to initial reports of a stolen vehicle from Dawn-Euphemia. That was followed by reports of stolen gas involving a matching suspect vehicle.
Police say the Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team were deployed after the suspect fled on foot once approached on Robert Street.
OPP K9 “Blitz” located the suspect shortly thereafter.
Charges against the accused include: resisting peace officer, escaping lawful custody, theft, possession of property, failure to comply and more.
The accused appeared in court early Monday afternoon.
