Another step forward in the ongoing battle between the provincial government and the cottagers of Rondeau Provincial Park.

Government officials with the MNRF and Ontario Parks are in the process of putting together an environmental assessment and looking for feedback from members of the public at large.

A bulk mailing went out to cottage owners, which lays out a date of June 17th as the cut-off for comment.

With the leases set to expire at the end of next year, the EA means there is the potential is there to extend to at least 2038.

The extension could include new, more restrictive uses and conditions.
