The province is appointing an investigator to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
The role of the investigator will be to look into the ongoing hospital board crisis, and make recommendations as to the best way forward.
Acting LHIN CEO Ralph Ganter says an investigator was recommended by his organization.
“The investigator will examine and report on issues related to the governance and management of the CKHA. The investigator does not assume authority of the current hospital boards or senior management of the hospitals,” says Ganter. “The investigator will identify new strategies and/or next steps to respond to the issues identified in the investigation.”
Ganter says it will be business as usual in the meantime and there are no timelines as to when the report will be completed or acted upon by the Ministry of Health.
