The Lord Selkirk Bridge on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg is now closed.

A main vein of travel through Wallaceburg, the bridge is expected to remain closed until the end of August, as a $3 million rehabilitation takes place.

The stretch was expected to be closed on Monday morning, but issues with the contractor and weather delayed the closure.

Municipal officials reached out to 99.1 on Friday morning, shortly after the bridge was shut down.

Officials remind residents that the Lord Selkirk Bridge is closed to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic
