A Chatham woman is one step closer to receiving a lotto prize from earlier this summer.
April Williams won $100,000 with Encore in the August 5th Lotto 6/49 draw with a ticket purchased at Pioneer Snack Express on Richmond Street in Chatham. However, since she works for an authorized OLG retailer, the claim fell within the corporation’s definition of an insider win.
OLG officials say Williams neither purchased nor validated her ticket at her own place of employment.
The matter was subject to an enhanced review and validation, and a 30-day publication period will help ensure there are no additional claims to the winning ticket.
All being well, the prize will be paid out on November 27th.
