A local couple is facing charges after a mini-crime spree in Blenheim.
According to police, the man and woman, who were actually under a court order to avoid one another, stole a wallet from an unlocked vehicle parked on Talbot Street.
The pair then allegedly used a stolen debit card to make a number of purchases – $17 worth of merchandise from one store, and $25 worth of cigarettes at a gas station on Chatham Street North.
It didn’t take long for the rightful owner to notice the wallet was missing, and police were called.
A 27-year-old Shrewsbury man and 33-year-old woman from Blenheim are facing several charges, including theft, possession of stolen property, and fraud.
