Lower Thames Get Low Grades

If the Lower Thames Valley Watershed was in grade school, it would be a D student.

That’s according to the LTVCA who released the annual report card recently.

In the Areas for Surface Water Quality, Forest conditions and Wetland cover, the best the watershed could muster in Chatham Kent was a “D” Grade, with “F’s in forest and wetland categories.

Key issues include habitat loss, invasive species and Blue Green Algae.

The only bright side is that over the last five years, the grades haven’t gotten any worse.
