Local conservationists are keeping a close eye on area waterways.

Flooding along the Thames River, February 21, 2018

With more rain over the weekend, officials with the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority say areas with poor drainage could experience some localized flooding.

Officials have been on standby to operate the Indian-McGregor Creek Diversion Channel to protect Chatham’s south end from flooding.

Meantime, the LTVCA is also keeping tabs on Lake Erie, with strong winds and waves battering the shoreline throughout the weekend.
